Again, no multiple choice.

I like beer, but John Moses got my vote. The number of patents he had easily outnumbered Colt's.

Has to vote beer as this is to tough a call to make. Both men correctly answered the need during their time period. Had they been born at the same time with the same technology and metallurgy available - it would have been interesting indeed...

I have to disagree with the common answer here. Colt is one of the most historic firearms. Browning, although one of the best of the best (if not THEE best) cannot take away the historical influence of the Colt.

That said, Ill take an original Browning 1911 over a Colt any day.....

Samuel Colt gets my vote. Where would we be if he had not dreamed up the concept of the revolver?

Mr. Browning was a genius no doubt. But the "most inventive" award must go to Mr. Colt.

While my vote goes to John Browning you have to give credit to Berthold Schwartz, the monk that accidentally invented the firearm with a mortar & pestle while making "Greek Fire". The mixture ignited sending the pestle into the ceiling.

I went with beer as well.

Who came up with rifling the barrels of the flintlocks helping the North win the war of Southern Insolence?
