Mosquito - alert...
Eat Garlic...Rub yourself with Fabric Softener Sheets...Drink Orange Soda...What the ???...I've heard of some strange things, but I'll just take the Mosquito bit....
|
I would kill you, but... you can sit outside at night and when they're all around you, connect an electrical current with your body. HUMAN BUG ZAPPER!
|
I must have sweet blood, because the little bastards love me, and at night I scratch in my sleep so my legs are covered in scars because of them. I'm very popular at BBQs and such because nobody else gets touched by them!
In Australia mosquitos spread Ross River Fever, which presents 6 month long symptoms very similar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. One of my mates had it in high school, and occasionally she still gets 'flashbacks' of symptoms a couple of years after she had it  Nasty stuff indeed. |

Oil of citronella. My grandfather used to put a little on us when he would take us fishing many moons ago. No skeeter bites. He was ahead of his time. Had he only had the foresight to make candles or tiki torches with a mix of citronella...

Skeeters will fly past others to get to me. Have one daughter than inherited the trait as well. I use anything with a lot of DEET.
and for the itching- over the counter product called Campho-Phenique. Small green bottle, yellow cap. Contains phenol, which breaks down the protein that is making you itch. Works in about 30 seconds for bites from ticks, chiggers, and skeeters. The Redneck Miracle drug! |
I've heard that anything with deet is good, but they are working on something that is over a thousand times stronger. It's the anti mosquito gene. Still a bit off from production. In the mean time, those deet wipes look hopeful.
