Yeah salties are HUGE, anywhere from 4 to 7 metres! (23ft) Alligators don't get much bigger than 5m at the outside, according to wikipedia...

alligators arent as big but they are still aggressive. they have came out of the ponds at me several times.

I know, up in NT (Northern Territory) it really isn't advised to walk anywhere near any bodies of water in croc-prone areas...no human could ever run up the nearest tree fast enough

Well in the south east, EVERY body of water is gator prone. the only water that is safe is salt-water.

Gators still get pretty big, here is a picture that i took of a buddy of mine (Kent) he is the park manager out at gator country, he is kissing Big Al, who is roughly 18 feet (i think) and over 1000 pounds, he is currently the largest gator in Texas captivity
