Went out three times lately here in NW Tennessee with no luck other than snakes and ticks. I hate ticks on me with a passion. But, I love those morels so much I'll just have to put up with the blood suckers. I've seen a bunch of those white kind of button top mushrooms. Don't know if they're edible but not going to chance it. Good luck!

Just leave the ones that grow in the cow patties for..... My friend. When I first moved to Oregon in the late 80s, seven people died from eating the wrong mushrooms. I get mine from the produce section.

Lmfao.
On a serious note. Not many edible mushrooms up here and I don't know of any that grow in the ground that you can eat more than once. You can eat any kind of mushroom, once! Lol

Never eat unknown mushrooms with gills on the bottom.

I'm afraid of that, too. I trust my sister to know what she's harvesting. She's 60 and hasn't died yet. But I don't know what I'm doing so I just buy them, too.

Last year I found an 8-inch chanterelle in the woods near my house. I don't see morels though. I have never eaten any of the ones I find because I am not 100% confidant. I have friends that I trust though.
