Does benning have a HiPoint in .45?

Where / who is the grip?
J.D. worked some wizardry with the springs.

The grip is an irrelevant character, don't want to confuse anyone.

Benny totes this.

So if JD had his 1911 in his possession the whole time and the slug is still in Mr. cop actors skull, wouldn't a simple ballistics test rule out JD as the shooter???

Slug was a frangible, hence no exit. There isn't enough left to make a positive identification, ballistics shows from the entry wound that hte bullet was a .45 cal.

What are the results of a GSR analysis on the victim?

A GSR merely confirmed that everyone on set in the scene had fired a weapon.

Can the angle of entry on the wound be determined and if so, approximate it?

No angle beyond the unspecific "downward" can be conclusively determined.

If the guy was shot with a 45 why is benny carrying a 38 super? That's not period correct.
