I suggest breaking it all down to component's ( the Body, the environment, the crew), and asking specific questions about each, make the picture clearer.

You're doing good so far, keep it up, get the mental picture.

Where was Benning when the shot took place? Proximity to JD?

Was the director in a chair on the ground or on a lift?

Was there any one person responsible for inspecting all the weapons prior to the shoot?

What the hell?!

I had to get up at 0400 this morning and drive from my comfy home across the pass to the town of Kennewick. Yeah, that's a real name, for some stupid 1000hrs bid opening on two projects.

I get here a little early and I log in to find myself framed for murder?!

Help?

J.D. was hired to be the gun guy-armorer- weapon master.

J.D. had his weapon at all times.

The director was in a chair.

We don't know anything about Benning, except that he told J.D. that he was responsible, that he's in costume, and that he has motive.

No one had beef except me.

Understand this, I did it. I am guilty. Your job is to prove it. How did I pull it off, you need to make the case to spring J.D.

Everybody on set in the scene had a gun.

How did they get a 1911 in .45ACP to shoot wax/squib loads and still function as a true semi-auto?

Does benning have a HiPoint in .45?

Where / who is the grip?
