Sorry to say I just read that the 4th officer passed away. A 5th officer was grazed with a bullet at the appartment but it was a minor injury. This guy used two different firearms, the first a pistol at the traffic stop and a assault style rifle at the apartment. Sorry I can't call it a sport utility rifle in the situation. The liberals will be all over this to tighten gun control but it should show just how easy it it is for bad guys to get guns illeagly and taking them from honest people will only make events like this more wide spread.

It's truly a shame that four good men lost there lives to someone I expect the parole board knew they were releasing someone who would reoffend. I would truly like to know the names of those on the parole board so we could all send them pictures of the officers and our thoughts just might make them think twice before they rubber stamp the next violant preditor for release. At least the PD sentenced this turd properly otherwise he would be back on the streets again in 10 years. I read where one of his relitives said the turd was't a monster, I wonder what her diffinition of a monster would be?

Only in Kalifornia would a mob taunt the police who are trying to apprehend a dangerous criminal. My prayers are with the families and their brave fallen. What has happened to our country?

Let me guess, he was a nice kid who was turning his life around.

I wish I could convince all the cops in California to pull up stakes and head for places that appreciate what they do. Saw a bumper sticker that said "You don't like the police, try living without any." It twists my guts to hear about ingrats taunting officers who lost four partners at the hands of some violent criminal who should not have been let out of prison.

Unfortunately I have to agree with WDB that the political haymakers are going to be out yelling about guns instead of looking at the failure of society to properly confine violent criminals.

I'm going to hit submit reply for I get more pissed off...

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"
