Default Minimal firearm selection

Just for kicks and giggles, let's assume that you had to buy the only firearms that you could have for a lifetime, with no trades/sells or purchases after the original transaction.

Lets also say that your entire budget was $2,500.00

What would your selections be, and why the type?

For me:

1. Used 870 shotgun........................................... $250.00
2. Used, scoped, high-power rifle .06/.308..............$500.00
3. Used, bolt action .22........................................$200.00
4. HI-cap,magazine fed, centerfire (AK)..................$400.00
5. Semi-auto hand-gun (1911a1)............................$750.00
The additional balance in critical spare parts.

The only odd choice here is the .22 bolt rifle, the reason is that you can fire any .22 ammo through it, including Colibri, which would allow you to take small game without making a fuss.

The 870 is hunting and home protection.
The high power centerfire is if you had the need to reach out and touch something (deer?) over 100 yards.
The AK type is incase you had to face more than just a couple of threats.
The handgun is for concealed carry. (I carry one now)

Yep. The spare parts were an afterthought. Being a serious tightwad, I filled my gun cabinet and had money left over. I should have bought an additional Mosin Nagant an 880 rounds of ammo. but, that wouldn't be minimal.
