Default microwave popcorn

The Lovely Mrs being off on hegira with her aged father, I am at home enjoying the fruits (meager as they are) of my labors alone. Being thus emancipated, I am conducting an experiment in culinary delights. Thus far, Pop Secret is far better than Act II. Unfortunately I bought a big box of both so more results will be tardy in coming. Anybody with a better suggestion please chime in.

Try Orville Redinbacher Ultimate Butter. It'll kill you but it's good.

Kettle corn is my wife's favorite. It makes me ill. Some of the best popcorn available is the stuff the Boy Scouts sell every year. It costs a little more, but it is for fundraising, after all. The butter stuff rocks.

I don't like kettle corn, either.

The very favorite kind of popcorn in my family.......the kind where you buy the kernels in the bag and cook it on the stove top, like in the good ole days. The very best, indeed. Add your own salt and butter and enjoy.

I prefer Pop Secret over the other two. In my testing I found that while ORB pops bigger and fluffier than the others. The major drawback to them is the outer corn hull on the ORB corn is larger and not as chewable therefor it requires hours of flossing after eating it. I also find that Pop Secret gives you more mushroom pops which are tougher and thus better than the butterfly.

Holy cow, Tango. You really analyzed this, didn't you. I never realized there were different styles of "pop" like mushroom or butterfly. I mean, I've seen it but I never knew it meant anything. I can't wait until the next time I pop some popcorn. I'm really going to analyze it. I usually just pop it and eat it without a second thought.

I have also found that if you add butter or margerian mushroom hold its shape better.

I always like Jiffy Pop, the one in the pan you shake over the stove. Besides, it is more fun. Microwave Stinks.

Nope. Every time I've bought that to make with my granddaughter the popcorn is dry and tastes like Styrofoam packing peanuts. If your going to make it on the stove, use loose kernel popcorn and a pan with a lid. MUCH better.
