Would alphabetical be okay or would you prefer I start with lowest population?
Actually it only annoys me when the person posting has asked a regionally or State specific question but leaves out what that region or State is. Outside of that I do not "deem (it) important" as to where you reside. It can be interesting and add something to the conversation for the rest of us, but if you choose to remain anonymous that is up to you.
For the record, I have been on the receiving end of some mildly veiled threats due to some comments I have made on this forum and those who were making them were asking for more detail as to exactly what I do and where I live. Nothing ever came of it and I don't expect that anything ever will. But it does happen, and I am aware of that risk.
On the other hand there is another (non-firearms) forum I used to belong to where a guy asked why the forum members were being so damned mean when responding. It was a valid question (posters are regularly flamed for asking a question that they could not find the answer to in the "search" function). I offered some comments in defense of the OP and was flamed for it. Some of the members searched out exactly who the OP was and posted his personal information (where he lives, what other sites he visits, etc. etc.). Now I am not in any way saying that this would happen here on FTF, but it does happen on the Internet every damned day. My point was that if you want absolute privacy that is not available on the Internet. I was trying to make that point in an ironic way.
As to my own profile it is somewhat ambiguous but gives you a regional idea as to where I live. It is accurate and probably will not change anytime soon.
As to your profile MidnightExpress, I will look forward to following you in your travels!
