Insurance covers the shipper, not the receiver. So, bottom line is that the shipper would have to file a claim not the receiver of the package. I agree with the OP, if there was a problem from day ONE I wouldn't even accept the package period. My FFL shows me my purchases before he transfers it to me, so this way if there's an issue, an inspection will reveal it and I won't accept it...End of story. I am likely to assume that there was no issue during shipping, but rather after the fact, when the receiver got it home and started playing with it...

I can be wrong, and often am, but I have 14 years of eBay experience and twice that amount of retail experience. that is what it sounds like to me.

Not really- Its up to the shipper- They have the option of how its handled -
Least it was 10yrs ago, things change.

Thats pretty much how mine went - The receiver did the claim tho (i think) course i had to agree & i was asked if i wanted everthing done by him so he could receive funds for damage 'n whatnot & i signed off on it-
May be apples & bannanas ---

2nd time i just did everything- got item back, collected funds & sent him his money back---THINK one was ups & one fedex but not sure-

Bob, you are definitely on the high ground, here.
It's always tough on a guy when some schmuck tries to pull a fast one,or changes his mind after a deal is done. Especially on the web where tales are spread far and wide so quickly, whether or not there's any validity to them.
It looks like you did everything by the book, right down the line. Try not to let prey on you too much.
Looking over your posts here, I'd purchase from you anytime.
Hang in there,man.

latest update...this guy wont quit. had some more of his slander poofed on another website.
i think the guy is mentally ill.
im kind of concerned because he knows my address and i know his. we are close enough to visit. so if he shows up at my door, it may get nasty. he's scaring my wife. i looked him up on the web, he is one scuzzy looking fellow. makes me wonder what he'd want with such a nice gun of mine to begin with.

i think the suggestion posted earlier may be right. he may have gotten a claim and is working me to pay up some so he can have a free gun.

from the time he 1st inquired to today has been 4 months. he may have ocd.

Your wife could always contact the authorities and let them know she is scared of this guy. He could potentially end up with no guns.
