Default The Masters

They have the Masters golf tournament going on in Augusta this week, I live about 15 miles out of town, everyone I talk to wants to be in town to be part of all the hoopla and in all the people. Not me, I'm setting up some targets tomorrow putting a shoulder on the smoker and staying on the back deck. While the shoulder is cooking I will shoot one gun then another and enjoy a relaxing day!

Too bad you didn't live closer to the tournament, I'd be fun to crank off shots right down the road just as everyone is whispering on tv and bein quiet so as not to disturb some pro's golf swing or putt.

Sounds like a great plan. I have never understood the fascination people have with golf and it is expensive.

Truthfully, it's a fun game, and not that expensive. Especially when hearing that from a shooter!! Much like shooting, it takes some focus and attention to detail, and you don't just smack the hell out of it and walk off.
It's interesting to play. Not that I do much anymore. But I have taken part in it off and on for years.
Of course, they said Tiger Woods played nine holes. Then went to the opening tee off at the Masters.

I used to live within sight of the Castle Pines course in Colorado. Hated the traffic when they had the PGA tour come thru.

Always wanted to start a new game- Skeet Golf. Pay it with a 3 iron and an O/U. If you don't like the lie of your ball- WHAM!

I played golf when I worked in the auto racing industry. If you didn't play golf you had nothing to do because everybody else had the rental cars at the golf course. So I played. Never cared for it much, but perhaps because of that I seemed to be pretty good (I would beat most of my teammates with great regularity. There was one guy on our team who would beat me but he had played since he was a kid. I did play Agusta once but I didn't pay the tab. My favorite kind of golf involved beer, golf carts (or sometimes rental cars) and fireworks (if anyone here worked at the Firestone Country Club in Akron back in the late '80's, I had nothing to do with it..... )

I have joked with my kids for years about Skeet Golf! As a matter of fact the only use we have for golf balls is as a target these days. One of the leftovers of my race worker career is that we have approximately 2000-4000 golf balls scattered on my 20 acres from "range practice". They turn up all the time. Do you know how difficult it is to hit a golf ball and then try to shoot it out of the air? Impossible for me!
