Manly Jobs
I work in the Medical Field.
The Village People represented cops, the miltary, construction, outlaw bikers, cowboys, and Native American Chieftans.
The Village People were gay.
There were no Village People in the medical field, which means my profession is too gay to warrant recognition by a 70's disco group.
Understand, I'm not knocking the groups that were recognized. I think these jobs were the epitome of macho. But maybe there is something manlier.
I want to work one week in the manliest job there is. Something so awesomely manly that I can throw it out there in a bar, and men will tremble and women will swoon.
I could even take vacation from my weak @$$ job, just to be a bullfighter or a Texas Ranger for a week.
So what is the consensus?

Okay, pretty manly. I would have thought diamond drilling would have had much smaller equipment.
How do you know you're not destroying some Hope Diamond with drills that big?

I've always wanted to spend a season as a crab fisherman in Alaska. Now that I'm married my wife has killed that idea.
I too work in the medical field and my job makes me feel like a woman. A fat, unattractive, unwanted woman.
If I didn't have a woman to support I'd go back to being a mechanic or something I actually enjoyed.
I'm currently completing my package to apply for the highway patrol class of 2010. At least I can carry a weapon!

I use to cut down trees for a living. I didnt consider myself a lumber jack like on the tv shows but still cool. Would run my Husquervarna chain saw all day. Could time how long I had worked, 45 minutes at a time before a refill. Loved that job. Time flew.

Relatively manly...I was a journeyman carpenter most of my life.
Manly...How about coal miner? Working on an oil rig? Demolitions expert? Special Forces?
