What bothers me, I've been in security going on 20 years. I make good money where I'm at now. Then guys like gecko45 come round talking trash and that just makes my job harder. The people I work with start seeing all security in the same light.

I can see how that would be a problem. Personally I try to differentiate between idiots like gecko45 and actual people who do a job.

From the Start he wanted me to do Investigations & research. eventually i did....But I saw what you were saying first hand. Some people..........(*sigh*)

You can make a difference in that.

Same is true of cops. You can be a much better cop or security officer if you focus on helping people and being a decent person while maintaining a high state of situational awareness and training. It does not have to be visible for it to be effective while on duty. I have know many cops who manage to do this very well while still being excellent officers.

That's where I got lucky in this job. We hire exclusively Military or LEO experienced people, so professional behavior is demanded by our coworkers. As a result, the turnover rate of the Former Military moving on to a Law Enforcement Agency is high.
