Default M&P Shield

Has anyone bought or looked at the M&P shield compact .40? I can't get my hands on one to look it over.
Thinking about going with the Shield or the XD in a compact .40.
Any thoughts or comments.

Maybe if this was posted in the semi-auto handgun area, you would get more responses.

I just bought a Shield in .40 two weeks ago. GM had six in stock, which was a shock. Paid $450. Only had it out once, but so far I'm very impressed. It really feels great in the hand.

I have a Shield 9 mm and it is a great gun. Go to the Semi-automatic hanguns, M&P and you will get a better sample of opinions.
