I just want tell you all, that you're the best bunch of folks ever. Thanks for all the well-wishes and condolences. You'll never know how much it means to me. Thank you.

Roc, My condolences, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Your Dad sounds like he was a great Man be proud you knew him. I know what it feels like to lose your Dad, mine passed away in 2002 and there hasn't been a single day since then that I haven't thought about him.

Greatest Man I ever knew.

Rocshaman, I, too, lost my father on September 6th of this year. I was not ready for him to go. Just the day before he passed on I talked to him on the phone and said that we were going to try and make it over to his place that afternoon. He replied "Well, if not there will be another time." and I said "Yes, there will be another time."
Sadly it was not to be, not on this Earth anyhow. Those were some of the last words I spoke to him while he was still conscious. At 0200 the next morning I got a call from mom, and met her at the hospital. The following 14 hours were the worst of my entire life. I lost the only person who truly understands me that day. On the other hand, because we knew each other so well and talked to each other often, I know that he was cool with what happened. I am at Peace with his passing. I know he would not have wanted it any other way. I hope that you are at Peace, or you will be soon. Hang in there my friend.

Sorry I'm late to this one. My Dad was much like yours, everyone who met him liked him right away. As long as you didn't wrong him (or God forbid my Mom!) he was the best friend anyone could have. I lost him 23 years ago and still miss him a lot. Be thankful for your years with him and that you had a good relationship with him. Many don't have that. Al the best to you and your family in a very hard time.

I am sorry for your loss. It sounds like he was a great guy.

My father is in his upper 70's, and i dread that last day.

Default Getting old.......

My father was a medic durring the second world war, its ironic that he passed on Nov. 11th 3 years ago......He was a more well liked man that I'll ever be. He gave to others till it hurt and then gave some more. It was allways better to give to those that are less fortunate....He was the glue that held the family together.... My thoughts are with you, I know you'll miss him as much as I miss my own father. Keep him in your thoughts every day and you'll live a life of happiness.......
