I had a 1978 Datsun 210 that I bought new and drove until 1991 when the rear went. By then I was tired of fixing in and junked it. It was a 5 speed hatchback and still got over 30 mpg when I junked it (40 mpg new). The odometer had 192K on it, however it was not working for about 6 mos. At that time I was commuting 40 mi each way to work, so it could have had another 20K on it. I live in Florida, and it was a Yankee car with no AC. Which is why I junked it.

My wife has a 1999 Mercury Mistake with about 110K on it, but I had to replace the engine at 65K Should last until we retire, and then it will go.

I bought my current car brand new in 1996. Ford Thunderbird LX with the V-8 engine. Very few problems encountered with this beast and it's still running strong. Had to have the heater core replaced a couple of years ago which I'm not really griping about. I have the oil changed pretty much at every 3,000 mile mark and I went to synthetic oil about 3 years ago. I figured with just over 83,500 miles on it, not to mention that its going on 15 years old, synthetic would be the way to go.

Default a 1990'S ford taurus was a favourite car of one of

My co-workers until a stray cat chose to sleep in his engine compartment!
The poor thing found itself caught-up in it's serpentine-belt to create several
hundred $ in damage to the car! Not so with my Toyota as all the "under-
panels" were still like new & in place! My 1982 Ford F-150 is just as deadly to
pets, with it's "undercarrige" unprotected , with the threat of sucking a pet
to it's underside....I NEVER let a pet near the engine compartment when the
vehicle is running! My old p/up is the "beater" that Pop & I use for deer & elk
hunting as it is "not as nice looking" as Pops 2 wd version ,(mine is a 4x4) &
has served me very well as my primary vehicle when I was self employed in
the hvac business from 1993 to 2000!

I forgot about a 1963 Impala I had. I got it in 1968 with about 55,000 miles on it and drove it until 1972 when it had about 115,000 miles on it. It was a 283 cu in V8 with a powerglide two speed transmission. Engine was good but the tranny was junk. Anyway it quit running and I could not get it started. I sold it for $8 (cost of a tow) to a mechanic friend. He took about a day to get it running and drove it until 1976 and put about another 90K miles on it. He then sold it to a Mexican mushroom picker in Kennett Square, PA. At that time it had over 200,000 miles on it. Two years after that I saw it in front of a picker bar called the Baja bar, in Kennet Square. I stopped, parked and went up to it and looked at the odometer since the door was not locked. Damn thing had a reading of clsoe to 230,000 miles on it. Not bad for a 1963.
