Longballer Delivers: The DH Custom Tracker
One of the great things about this place is the Vendors, and our ability to interact with them.
One of the bad things is how wrapped up we get in conspiracy.
The big conspiracy subject? Post election riots.
That set me thinking. What would Chuck Norris do in that situation?
One riot, one Ranger, m**********rs.
So I needed a carry rig for a Norris caliber, I needed something to tote a Taurus Tracker in .44 Mag.
Right now, Longballer is exclusively doing stuff for the 1911 platform.
But what if?

So PMs were sent.
Obstacles were presented. The man doesn't have the necessary fake guns to mold every model out there. I don't know the technical term.
I explained what I needed. I told him the style I was going for.
He ran additional ideas past me, "Well, hey, if you're doing this, how do you feel about adding that?"
"Didn't know you could do that. Yes, please."
He cut me some breaks, he gave me a timeline, he listened to my expectations for this particular rig.
Once in the pipeline, he sent me a sketch of the vision, and asked my approval, and went to work.

Longballer kept me updated with each step of the process. I'd get pictures of the holster through each stage of it's assembly.
Again, you can't really do that when you buy custom holsters from other guys.
Which is why this place rocks.
I want to thank Longballer for working on a project he wasn't really prepared for, putting up with my nagging, and ultimately turning out a fine piece of gunleather.

So, what did I wind up with?
I needed a crossdraw, I wanted it to scream old school Texas, I needed tight tolerances. I wanted something to break in when I practiced drawing, I needed it to remain secure and protect my piece.
And here it is...

EVERYTHING on this is snug, the gun doesn't move at all, but pulls like butter.

My doo-doo photo skils don't do the leather justice. Very deep, very rich.
There was a temptation for me to go overboard with the design, I think he got it just right, it says Texas Ranger Badazz without coming off like every inch of it had to be tooled with horses and tumbleweeds and a cactus.

Wow! That is impressive and I think you are right. He nailed it with that design. I love the badge on the bottom as an accent, that really makes it pop.
I said this to Longballer personally, but I don't know how the dude got involved in real estate when he has this kind of skill and artistic creativity.
He is currently working on a carry holster for my 1911 and it's going to be awesome based on the early sketches.

The ONLY thing missing is a custom stamp, our man needs to be marking his work.
And he probably needs a cool name for this model.
I plan to go all week toting, I'll review as I go.

I agree. The man definitely has talent, it'd be nice if this could pay off for him.
True success is when you get paid to do something that you'd do for free...
