I read the book. It was a good read. Every service member past and present is grossly underpaid for what they do. The politicians should divvy up their salaries and give them to all the armed forces members.

Just saw the movie this weekend and I loved it
it was a great movie

What really really pissed me off was my town which is a huge town four hundred thousand plus there was not one movie theater that was playing it.
I had to go to a neighboring town
what was that all about
I'll just let your mind wander.

Ya gotta remember that you're the exception, not the rule.

Most Californians hate America as badly as the Taliban do.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread...

I've watched this movie twice now. Read the book 3 times. I'm a Marine vet...served with a scout platoon. We actually worked a little with some SEALs in Iraq...they were amazing guys.

That being said...this movie is very well done. Does add some Hollywood BS, but it's kept to a minimum.

I'll admit to shedding some tears. I tried not to. But couldn't help it and had to just let it go. The ending where they showed the pics and clips of the men with their families was a very tough thing for me to watch. They're not super heroes...just extraordinary men...but regular men just like us with families and friends who love them. Not an "entertaining" movie at all...but I will watch it a thousand times. It shows the sacrifice men like these are wiling to make for us and each other.

I'm going to buy the DVD as soon as it's out.

I just about had to wring out my handkerchief after the ending scene with the pix of the guys with their families. That really got to me.
