I think CenterofMass is where I bought mine. I have 3 that are all the same key. Very convenient. The seat frame will almost always have something that you can get a cable through.

And these are also TSA compliant so you can use the same case to transport guns in your luggage.

A safe is a good idea, I always assumed the fact that you left the gun in the car and locked the car doors would be considered safe storage and keep you in the good graces of the law, but that may not always be the case everywhere.

I drive an Explorer. I place the safe under the back seat and cable it ti the seat frame, however you could just leave it on the floor in the back and throw and old fast food bag over it.

Luckily criminals are by nature not the brightest if people. If they she a sweatshirt or mcdonalds bag on the floor, they will probably just think your untidy.

Right near my house... relatively nice neighborhood, someone ran into the street in front of a car and attempted a car jacking. Friend of my wife's saw the whole thing go down. What the BG didn't count on was the driver having some self defense training No guns, but apparently beat the stuffing out of the bad guy... so yea, keep the doors locked

I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately. I have been considering getting a gun to keep in the car, but my concerns are a) if someone breaks in, they could quickly grab a gun not in a safe, and b) if I do put it in a safe, I may not be able to get to it quickly enough if I need it. I try to be aware of my surroundings, but what if something happens while I am trying to get into my car? Carrying a firearm into my building at work is not an option, though several of my coworkers keep theirs in their vehicles. I am interested in hearing how others store their guns in the car.

Now you're talking about storing a firearm in a car in such a way that it allows quick access. A car safe is not the way. For me, I only use it when I am walking into a federal building or a gun store that doesn't want loaded firearms. Otherwise, it is on my person at all times. If I was a long-distance driver, I would most assuredly invest in an OWB crossdraw holster for in the car

You have a GUN STORE that doesn't let you carry a licensed Gun with CCW permit?

No Way. I WON'T believe it!!
