Would the battle have ended differently? Very likely, IMHO.

No argument here...Sioux, and their horses...all dead. (Assuming the troopers were proficient and that these were not 1st gen Colt M-16s.)

Oh hell, if we are going off speculation here, why not just use an Apache against a bunch of Sioux.

Plot Introduction:
The story deals with a group of time-travelling Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging members who supply Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia with AK-47s and small amounts of other supplies (including nitroglycerine tablets for treating Lee's heart condition), leading to a Southern victory in the war.

Since all choppas are named after Indian tribes, they go to the Sioux....

Custer was out gunned. Some historians say that the red man had repeaters and Custers men had the single shot. Maybe Custer should have played the Indian in his child hood, he might have learned something........

This reminds me of a story I wrote in HS about a couple of Marines who go back to Aztec days in a time machine--with a huge collection of auto weapons, grenade launchers, ammo etc., and take on the whole Aztec nation from the top of a stone temple. They win, of course, and have lots of fun in the process. Great freakin story. I got a C-.

The name Apache is a guise to lure in more "Indians" (hostiles). Just ask the Air Cavalry pilots who fly them.
