An appropriate response to this would be to transfer him to the Baltimore PD. There, his behavior would be considered routine.

Sorry, gents- spent 10 yrs with a badge. He was WAY out of line- the legal line. He should be charged. How did he know someone was not going to throw a brick? The same way he knew no one was holding a nuclear weapon- because he had not seen anyone with a brick.

In 74, was working front gate at VA Governor's Mansion. Had some kid toss a snowball at the gatehouse. Our response? We threw snowballs back, and ridiculed their aim and asked if they learned to throw from their sister. And we all had a good laugh. What you saw in DC was "Contempt of Cop". Someone actually hit his personal vehicle with a snowball. How DARE they!

Kids to most of us here are anyone under the age of 24 years old.

about the protest why does it matter either way. He was not involved in policing the protest it looks like there were not a whole lot of protesters. He was just pissed that his POS wannabe HMMWV got hit by a snowball. It was an effing H2 a yukon with an ugly body. They are exactly the same on the underside. But again why does the protest have anything to do with his OVER REACTION to a simple snowball.

I am a "kid" according to the above definition and known better than that. My weapon comes out when there is a SERIOUS threat. A snowball is not considered serious... to me at least. And he knew no one had a brick the same way we all do not assume the guy next to you at Starbucks is not a rapist. He deserved to be let go from the force and charged with brandishing a firearm.

Just another A-hole driving a Hummer, as far as I can tell. Apologies to all the "Non-A-hole" Hummer drivers here. I'm still waiting for Obama to say that the detective "Acted stupidly".

Superfly was pissed off that someone dissed his whip. Plainclothes and simple.

Is it racist to say that I'm suprised it didn't have 24 inch chrome rims?

I don't think it is. When someone has a Hummer as their primary vehicle there are 3 common scenarios.

1) It's a real Hummer or at least a really modified GM Hummer that is used for off road purposes. You live in the country.

2) You are Arnold Schwarzenegger or Gary Coleman

3) You live in a city that has limited parking and you drive a vehicle that even when touching the curb sticks out into traffic because it is to damned wide, you think your crap don't stink and have chrome rims, and a loud ass stereo that rattles your license plate holder and sounds terrible.

Race is not a factor in any of these. Therefore not racist.

None of this would have happened to Steven Seagal, Lawman.

Looking at the video the people were in the roadway during the snow ball fight but all looked like they were having fun. I did not see anyone punching of assaulting anyone. I think this detective is stressed out and in need of a long vacation.
That was the 1st thing I saw in the video and pictures too......this coulda been real bad, snow on the ground and this idiot slips with his finger on the trigger of his Glock and some poor bystander gets shot...he's lucky that all that might happen is his ass getting fired
