Lets say you are going away in the wilderness for 2 months, what would you bring???

Picture the old movie 'The Shining'. You are going away for 2 months far away from anyone. What would you take with you to keep your sanity? Any ideas? No phone, no internet. But you have electricity.

my guess is this question addresses the mental side of survival and not the physical needs like food, shelter and water.

i would have to have lots of good books and my music. if i have those, i'll see all you in two months and be happy as a pig in mud!:p

What kind of DVDs would you bring?

mrm14 11-30-2013 04:54 PM

Playing cards, dice, books, lined writing paper, and any other material that keeps your mind busy.

There is stoves, television for DVD's. Canned goods galore, but no fresh fruit or vegetables. Plenty of hunting and shooting if you can handle the weather. But you would be totally alone by yourself for 2 months.

A little food, handgun, .44 mag probably two months isn't a long time to spend in the woods for most. Couple paper backs maybe. A few par of new heavy weight smart wool socks, extra shoe laces for the Asolo boots. Good skinning knife. I'll keep thinking.

Tex

Macbook Air with Kindle App (315 books on tap), Ruger American in 30-06, Henry Golden Boy in .22 and Taurus .357. Sketchbook and pencil kit. Lots of clothes and toiletries to last. Dried fruit. Dried, smoked meat. First aid kit. Binoculars. Spotting scope. I'll think of more...
