Lawyers and such.
I was thinking, what if my Career as a Magician should not do so well. I may need a back up plan.
Does anyone know if you have to go to Law School or can you just take the BAR exam?
I have watched enough of Perry Mason, The Defenders, Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law and must have seen My Cousin Vinny at least two dozen times. I believe I could pull the lawyering off.
I watch Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law all the time on Adult Swim.
I believe I could pass the exam if given a month to study.

May I suggest that you enter the political arena? Your non-partisan inputs to this forum prove that you can't do any worse than Pelosi. And we all know that you can drain the swamp.

I think you should sub-pursue THAT dream, in case the whole magic thing doesn't work out.

In AK they won't let you take the exam without a degree from a law school. I checked. They don't want competition from us bright types without first beating us into intellectual submission.

Well, I think you are overlooking a GREAT career as a politician- if you played piano, you could get a job in a house of ill repute.
Here is VA, you do not have to have a law degree to take the State Bar. We still have, on the books, the original way that one became an attorney- you could "read law" for 4 years under a licensed attorney. Basically, an apprenticeship. Requires permission from the Clerk of the VA Supreme Court. Not used much anymore, but still on the books.
But you really should think about the piano lessons.........

I could move back to Virginia, I graduated High School there. Nothing wrong with the Clarksville area. Great Lake for fishing and hunting.
Just have to find a lawyer to study under, I can do street magic to earn money for rent. I could combine magic with lawyering. I could make people disappear from the court room to some other place.

As I have a lawyer in the family, I can tell you that your salary totally depends on what school you get the law degree from. Most folks don't realize that generic lawyers don't make the big bucks and if you're in the prosecuting area - it's just a civil service position.
So go ahead and take out about 250K in student loans, get that Ivy league degree - and earn the big bucks...

I was thinking of Being more like the male version of Gloria Allred. I could represent men like Tiger and Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson. Get myself on all the News shows and spout stupid stuff. I could do that.

You need to be a public relations flack! You don't need any kind of degree for that. Just be willing to shamelessly lie your ass off. We could start a firm and cover the whole country. Shi-Fall Public Relations-You F*ck It UP, We Suck It Up.
