You may wanna look into seeing if any of your local departments have a reserve program it they do then I'd look into joining that. It's something I do for my sheriffs office and I like it a lot my brother is a full time police officer in our small town and likes it. He works rotating shift as mentioned above. If your local departments are like ours here they only hire off our reserve or jailor list anymore due to there turnover rate. The pay sucks in police work, that's why I do the reserves for now un till something full time comes along now that I have my bills all payed off but the house and one car. Just an idea to maybe look into. Best of luck.
