I want either less corruption or more opportunity to participate in it.

Could not find 2011 stats for Chicago, so here's the stats for 2012.

Population of Chicago-2,707,120
# of violent crimes in Chicago-27,957

Annual violent crime rate - 103.27 crimes per every 10,000 people
Sorry - lost the scarcasm on my post.

anyone coming up my driveway after dark is considered a possible threat. as i said i live in very rural area. my closest neighbor is at least half a mile away. my yard is fenced, as is my property. even though i'm armed when confronting someone after dark, unless they truly are a threat, they will have no idea that i'm armed. i don't go around showing off my firearms. but it's inches away if needed.
It is always good to have a gun handy. I live in a nice neighborhood no were near the hood, but drug dealers drive through our neighborhood doing deals occasionally. We had a shootout directly in front of our house a few months ago, I found 5 9mm casings.

i usually have a firearm of some sort near me 24/7. sometimes it might be a pistol or it might be a shotgun. like i said i live in a rural area, and we have wild hogs and poisonous snakes. as well as a few idiots that like to cause trouble.
