For handguns I would definitely do some asking or searching around in the forum, there is a lot of good advice out there.
You can get a Mosin for $89-$99 at Big 5 here in town when they are on sale, which is almost every other week. Bargain Pawn also has them in stock pretty regularly - they have an M44 carbine for sale on their Gunbroker account right now, but that is already over $100 and people will probably drive it up to $150 or $200 due to the shortage of that model. Give them a call and ask if they have any 91/30's in stock, their price should be the same as everywhere else ($89 or so).
