Default KOB Channel 4 On Your Side effort results in a heartwarming story

Army Reserve soldiers that were on active duty for 21 days, did not get paid for their time, they said it was a administrative error.

In some places, a woman standing in a parking lot handing out $100 bills would be greeted with suspicion. But in this case, there was nothing but appreciation.

The Placitas woman, who didn't want KOB Eyewitness News 4 to show her face, gave each of the soldiers $600 to help hold them over until the military pays them.

KOB has been referring to the woman who contacted us Wednesday after seeing our story "Cynthia". The soldiers are calling her their guardian angel.

"Cynthia" handed out all that money in the parking lot of Mario's pizzeria. Mario's donated a dollar for every meal they sold Thursday at their four locations.

It's called a "no-pay" and their finance department should be processing them under an emergency if for some reason beyond their control they didn't get paid. If they failed to submit their orders for processing then it's not an emergency and they will get paid on the next cycle.

There's something going on here that doesn't seem right. What is DFAS saying?

Guard/Reserve... NO they don't. If you are on orders you must pay for the dining facility and the barracks depends on how far from home you are. My unit is 90 minutes per Mapquest, I'm 81 minutes so no hotel for me. No barracks for anyone.
