Default Kim Du Toit Closing Down

Kim Du Toit posted on his website today that on December 1, 2008 he'll stop blogging. He's also shutting down all other sites: The Gun Thing, The Nation of Riflemen and The Nation of Volunteers.

Sad to see a great source of firearms info and other commentary disappearing from the internet. Maybe firearmstalk can become the destination of choice for those currently on the gun thing....

It's a great site, I go there often.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”Samuel Adams

I hate to see any good information source shutdown, for any reason.

Hopefully we can pick up some of the slack and get this thing at the fore front of the internet weapons resource short list.

We have some great guys here, a ton of guys with real world knowledge that aren't afraid, or are unwilling, to share that information with the members here.

I tip my hat to you gentlemen - without all the good posts, all the follow up, and the setting of egos aside ( for the most part ) to help out everyday guys we wouldn't have grown so rapidly, or have such a loyal member base.

I agree. If anyone is friends with the owner we should see about pulling their members into here. Be great to have even more 2nd Amendment supporters joining in here.
