Keeping your First Gun
Just wondering how many people have kept their first firearm? My Ruger P90 was the very first firearm I bought and although I don't shoot it much I was debating on whether to trade it in or keep it. Any thoughts?

There is a little, single-shot, bolt-action .22 rifle in the back of my safe that i hardly ever shoot. I got it for Christmas when i was six. If my nephew's kid needs a rifle in a few years, i may pass it on to her.

I have a Remington Model 700 30-06, that gun will not be going anywhere anytime soon. :D

My first gun was my Ruger 10/22, its gone through hell and back. Its still my go to gun for snakes, aggressive stray cats, and plinking

When I was 10 y.o. my Dad gave me his old Remington 512 Sportmaster .22 rifle for my first real firearm. I still have it today and it still shoots great. I'll never sell it or give away, it'll be part of my estate to the kids.

ETA: I scoped it a couple of years back. Those old irons seemed fuzzy for some reason.

I had mine up till a few years ago. It was a no name single shot 20ga. I left it at my brothers place (who is a an avid hunter) and best we can tell one of his buddies took it. It really pissed me off as my dad bought it for me on my 11th birthday, I would loved to have passed it on to my son. He gave me a Marlin .22 to "make up for it", but it really does not. I know he feels bad, but I am still pissed. So I went out and bought a Single Ten that I plan to pass to my son.

Same story for me. My first was a glenfield model 60. Came up missing. Can't have that one back but I've since bought several just like the one I had. Dime a dozen and will never have value but when I give them to my son ,who is 9 now, when one goes missing he will still have a few more to soften the blow. I say keep it. You can only have one first gun.

My first gun is only about 2 years old but I will NEVER sell it. Nor will I sell my second gun, either.

I bought my first gun just a few years ago. I needed the money for a different gun so I sold it. But, it was a GLOCK, so...

'nuff said.

My first gun was a Smith & Wesson 411. It shot like crap. Traded it in on my SA XDm.
