Just keep the boxes your electronics and such come in; a buddy of mine always did and always got more for them at pawn time.

Well it DOES take some self-control.... But if you're set on buying something to pawn, by far the best bet would be Silver or gold. IMHO

Went to the range today to go and test out both rifles. The .308 performed flawlessly. The .270 was fine for about the first 5 rounds but on the second magazine the barrel blew out. Now I am ****ing pissed and will be looking into a lawsuit. I fully intend to sue the pawn shop until every employee is living on the street. No one was hurt but that could have caused pretty serious injury to one of us.

maybe i'm missing some pertinent information, but if they did shoot your guns while they were in the possession of the pawnshop, which i agree IMO, is very wrong and could be illegal as well, how did that cause the barrel to blow out? sounds more like an ammo related problem, not a fault of someone shooting your rifle.

and yes, please post pictures of the rifle with the barrel blown out.

That does suck! Did you stack one on a squib in a rifle or what?

I was shooting the same ammo I always do which is the Winchester Super X 130 gr Soft Points. After much wrangling with Savage Customer service they told me to send it in so they can look at it. Pictures are at Walmart being developed( we buy cheap phones and only have an old camera that takes rolls of film) and will be talking to a lawyer tomorrow.

I am honestly not sure what may have caused it. All I know is when I got it out of pawn it was so dirty I could barely see through the barrel and I cleaned it to white glove standard before I took it in and I cleaned it as soon as I got it out of pawn. Not sure what kind of ammo they shot through it so I cannot say for sure if they shot something that may have weakened the barrel. It had me as baffled as you esp since at least in my hands it has only had factory ammunition shot through it
