Why are there so many Marines on Navy ships?

Because sheep were to conspicuous.

Therre are 2 ships in harbor, one american one british. An American sailor Calls over, " Hows the worlds second largest Navy doing?" The Brit Replies with: "Just Fine, Hows the worlds Second Best?"

My Dad's favorite WWII joke;

Two tanks (German and Italian) meet on a narrow mountain road.

The Italians jump out and surrender.

The Germans jump out and shoot them.

(PS. The Germans and the Italians were allies)

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

This is a book my Dad gave me long ago. Bill Mauldin keep a lot of WWII GI's morale up in combat! His cartoons were published in Stars and Stripes.

My Dad met Bill in theater around Luxembourg in 1944. He also met Ernest Hemingway and Ernie Pyle, more names not mentioned in history books today.
My Great Uncle gave me a 40's copy of Up Front, Mr Maudlin really got it right. My favorite one is the bombed out building with the one pane of glass and he tells his buddy "go ahead, you know you want to do it". Or something like that. You are right, I shudder to even consider what they are teaching for revisionist history today in school. I remember how big a deal the bicentennial was, if it happened now I imagine it would get little more than a passing interest. Sorry, got a little off topic. Too much Red White and Blue in my DNA.
