Default John Wayne Trivia

The Sweed did two movies (that I know of) with The Duke, one as a military officer, and one as a gunsmith. Can you name the two movies?

McClintock also!

The story I heard was that he actually was music director (or whatever the proper title is) on a lot of John Wayne movies and the Duke always found a small part for him on screen.

contrary to popular belief, John Wayne was offered the role of Matt Dillion for the show Gunsmoke but turned it down and recommended James Arness for the role. the only true part is he did recommend Arness because they were friends and Wayne did the opening prologue to the premier episode.
