Part of the misconception of us here in the West is that the "religion" of Islam is MORE to them than just a religion.

They don't just talk about it with friends around the water cooler, go to church on the weekend and participate in bake sales, community outreach programs and try to help other people.

Their whole social structure is based around it. From their politics to their day to day interaction with other people to how they will overlook traditional family bonds and trends in the name "of".

The more I learn of Islam itself, the more scared I am of the fact that here in the US, the Right of Free Assembly and the Right to Religious Freedom is an open door to these people.

Islam sees the world in two colors - those who are THEIR BRAND Islamic, and everyone else who must be wiped out.

Put 1 Shi'ite, 1 Sunni and 1 Kurd in a room together, all of which follow "Islam". I guarantee one of them will be dead in the first day, just based on the difference they have with their own versions of the same religion.

It's very scary stuff - and not from a tin foil hat, out to get little old me, kind of way. They have been killing each other for THOUSANDS of years over there for the same exact reasons.

I've never mentioned the name of God while handling weapons. If I had to drop mortar on someone for any reason, with the potential for killing innocents, I might be saying "God forgive me" in between rounds.

I've had the opportunity to train with soldiers from other countries, and have always been amazed that we were all basically the same in different uniforms. We'd B.S. about lousy food, crap equipment, beer and girls.

I do not view these people as soldiers. Their tactics are not the tactics of professional warriors. They are not worthy of the respect due to an honorable enemy.

Years ago, we were training in the field in Germany. We were in the third week and on patrol. A group of us made a less than authorized visit to a small restaurant, to get some real food. We were dirty, we smelled BAD. Some old guys in the corner saw us and looked at us long and hard. Beer came to our table, our meal was on the house. From the old guys in the corner. They, according to the manager, would have killed us 40 years prior. They toasted us and nodded. They had worn a uniform once themselves, and understood.

That simple act says more than could actually be articulated between the professional soldiers who did what was asked of them, by their respective countries, than this current group of adversaries.

I agree with your assessment of our new enemy 100% Benning - they are not soldiers. They are cowards. They are misogynists. They give definition to the very word Terrorist, but they are not soldiers. Nor do they deserve the respect of ANY man who has ever worn a uniform.
