We have a 30th wedding anniversary in a few days. It will slide by like just another day, which it is.
Most holidays are not about the gifts unless you make them that way. Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, and Anniversaries are NOT about gifts.

Christmas and Easter are Christian holidays, and are about getting together with family rejoicing in the Lord. Even for nonchristians, it'as supposed to be about family.

Birthdays and anniversarys are not about gifts either. Birthdays are about celebrating a nother year of life with your friends and family, anniversaries are about celebrating the love between you and your spouse.

The entire point of gift giving is not the gift itself. Its the thought that counts.

If you haven't noticed, this guy seems to have no joy. Unless you count raining on other people's parades. Kinda like the dementors from Harry Potter.

mine is also on 9th, i'll be 32. the fiancé told me that my present won't be here in time for that.....really have no idea what it's gonna be. though i'll be the first to admit that she is better at getting me gifts than I am at getting her things. honest truth, I got her a bandsaw for her birthday last year . I thought she was joking when she said she wanted one, turns out she uses it more than I do.

the fact she even knows what one is, much less how to use it, makes that lady a keeper

Happy birthday! Better to get em then miss em!

My wife and daughter come in every year and say; "we got you a surprise for your birthday!" I respond; "Oh goody, what calibre?"

They look at each other, laugh, and give me my shirt, or sox, or underwear, or pants. This year will be more of the same. Oh well! I don't have to buy that stuff, I can buy what I want for myself.
