Default Intentionally Self Inflicted?

The man was shot through the left palm and into the left side of his head.
Try it. Just make a finger gun of your right hand and try pointing it through your left hand and at your left temple.
Try with your left hand at varying distances from your head.
Did you try it?

Now turn your head to the right and hold your left hand out in front of you like you are trying to block an attacker or grab a weapon from him.
Which seems more plausible to you?

Were powder burns found on both hands?
Where was the gun found in relation to the body?
How many shots were fired?
How many wounds?

Move this thread wherever you need to. You can't hurt my feelings; I don't have any.

What portion of the head was struck on entry? Was it the temple for sure?

Were there powder burns on the front or back of the hand?

Were there powder burns at all, or was the hand struck on exit?

Is there an actual report that can be reviewed or are we guessing the physical arrangement and juxtaposition of hands, guns, heads, etc?

The only way I could come close was with the thumb of my right hand in the trigger guard. Not likely self inflicted.
McCool are you ok? This sounds personal.

Default Intentionally Self Inflicted?

They first said multiple wounds but the medical examiner found the hand and head wounds were caused by a single bullet.
One shell casing was found, but how many were missing from the weapon?
He radioed for backup complaining of prowlers on his property.

Technically it is still multiple gunshot wounds even though they were from the same bullet. Hand wounds and head wound(s). To an officer arriving on the scene, and radioing for an officer down it is understandable that they would note multiple gunshot wounds on arrival to the scene.

And I'm not trying to be a jerk or say that they didn't get it wrong on some level. Just trying to remain objective in a potentially emotional scenario. Without noting where powder residue was found actual entry and exit can be hard to determine.
