2 steps ... pry off the shroud ... pry off the safety ... not so impossible ;)

Nah, doesn't work. I tried for a while. Turned the bottle cap into 4 pieces and did not succeed.

I've done it before. Flatten the cap after folding it in half, then pry off the safety.
