Default I'm po'ed

I bought a 243 Savage axis Sunday Aug.12th and for some reason the FEDS put me on HOLD till the 16th! 5 days to take possession of the firearm.

So much for a quick background check.

The official story is 'we are dealing with extremely high volumes of transactions'
Take it for what it is or question it if you choose.
If it makes you feel any better it took my 2 weeks and three trips to the lgs just to register a barreled action.

Say what?
Are you talking about registering a bolt action rifle? Or is this some sort of NFA thing?

Sometimes NICS does that and it's as random as can be. You can buy a gun today and get a proceed and come back tomorrow and buy another one and you get a delayed. After 3 business days it is up to the dealer to proceed or not with the transaction if they haven't heard back from NICS.
