I'll keep an open mind on what you say, but I would genuinely love to see where is there a law on a book that states what the OP is asking would be illegal.

Try this link: AmmoSeek.com
or
Ammoengine.com
you can do a search and find the best price.

That being said I buy most of mine from Ammunition to Go, great prices and quick delivery.

If it says on the box "this unit not for resale" or some such similar thing, and you can PROVE that that is exactly what this A-hole is doing, I think you could take some kind of action.

The question I would ask, would it be worth it to hire a lawyer if you could take action? I don't think so. The offender likely wouldn't get anything but a slap on the wrist, or the judge may shake his finger at the offender and tell him not to do it again.

Shame can do a lot to a man. I'd call him out right in front of a bunch of customers, tell him you saw him buy up all the ammo at the local wally world, but a notice on Craigslist, call the local BBB, anything. Make this crap public. In the meantime, you may be able to find the best deals online and at gunshows.

I think it's along the lines of scalping laws. I also feel (my opinion) that buying out local stock and reselling it at a higher price is more along the lines of a monopoly. That's like buying all the gas at local gas stations and selling at a marked up price because everyone else is now out. It doesn't foster to the free market. Also, business owners play by different laws than private citizens.

Walmart product numbers differ from the product numbers of the same product sold to a different retailer.

Typically a WM in front of the number.

I have seen this firsthand with blazer brass, WWB and green and white Remington.

Bottom line is - if the owner is doing something you don't like...don't go there =)

His business will suffer as a result. Post reviews about the place online, warning other customers of it, then send him an anonymous email saying "check out these reviews about your business"

He'll either get the drift and stop, or he'll keep going and lose your business.

Either way, trying to do something in court is, no offense intended, kind of pointless.

Or he will write reviews for himself.

couple of ranges in detroit area require you to buy their ammo. AND, people keep going back to these ranges {SMH}

I love how people claim to be for a smaller government until something pisses them offand POOF "there ought to be a law".

Crappy thing to do, but legal intervention is not the answer.

But then again this stinks of urban legend, too.
