I'm going to guess Farva from Super Troopers
And as for the money, half would go towards charities, then the rest for school and I'd live off the interest of what school didn't cost me from investing the rest in gold and silver and weapons

First I wouldn't claim it. I would have my lawyer claim it for me.
Then I would put 75% into a trust. I would buy a few guns and a bunch of bullets, powder, primers, and brass.
I would buy 2000 acres and build my house in the middle of it. I would make it so that it is 100% off the grid. Solar and wind.
I would buy a few animals, horse, cows, chickens lots of chickens, goats, sheep, pigs. I would get enough to have a replenish herd every year.
I would build a small refinery where I could make my own fuel from corn.
I would donate a chunk to the local SPCA and Set my grandkids up with college funds.
I would also build a few extra houses on my property for my family to move into when the Zombies come. No need to bug out when you can bug in. Start a little cult and call yourself The Governor.

Why is everybody wanting a trust? Trusts require fairly expensive accountants' work and can be a hassle of epic proportions if they aren't well-tended and planned.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillement of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause, and lies exhausted on the field of battle... Victorious.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I would just follow the trend: spend it all and declare bankruptcy.
On a lighter note...the only proper way to spend it would be to ensure everyone on here got a new gun!

Trip, my favorite sister worked for a national firm then for a large national bank specializing in trust and estate work, then she got her Phd and started teaching. She loves me, but there is no way in hell she would tend a trust for free, not even for her baby brother. I'm an accountant, and you couldn't pay me enough to do that crap.
Take the payout; pay your taxes; spend as you wish without the annoyance of consulting a trustee, a regular attorney, and your accountant.
As a single guy with no offspring, I like trusts only slightly more than bears. If you have kids, or parents who will need your full support, it would be reasonable to look into a trust for their health & maintenance.
