About 2 months ago, I was driving on the interstate and I tuned into a random talk radio station along the way. They were playing this very clip and discussing it, I had never heard it before. It was enough for me to remember the event, and to ponder it's content for a good many miles after. It started off slow for me, but then hit with specific examples of things that really matter today from my personal viewpoint. It was interesting for me to note that these words were spoken mainly for EFFECT, and many probably never foresaw a day when these very issues would be brought into question and even the norm in some cases. Now that they are, it seems Mr. Harvey had his fingers on the pulse of a world almost 50 years ahead of 1965. Very interesting speech indeed...

If you think that is scary you should read some of Richard Hofstadter's work. The man actually predicted how the media would turn out today nearly 60 years ago. And he was a former communist too!

Ill have to read up on him. Another example is Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged- 1957". Russian born, she saw first hand how political systems can suffocate innovation and stifle prosperity. She applied this to America, and in a work of fiction described a landscape that has a staggering amount of chiiling similarities too today...
