It is GOING to get a pad.

Whimper.

I just wanted to get the newly mounted scope zeroed.

Did not bring the lead sled.

Buy an M1A/M14.

Cut the stock at the length of the hinge for the buttplate, and install a nice cushy recoil pad.

You can also fill in the hinge area to keep the stock a bit longer and install a pad.

OK- the ibuprofen is working. I'll stop whimpering. I had forgoten bruises CAME in those colors.

Appreciate the suggestions on the M1A, but specifically wanted this one due to VERY small size, and very light weight. But there IS that pesky "equal and opposite reaction" equation.

I got a 99F -- same steel buttplate. Gonna try a slip-on pad for it. After 20 rounds it gets to be a bit much....

my uncle has the very same rifle, i shot it from age 14 - 17. it kicked, but i don't remember it kickin all too bad. his had a dark finish though, with rough grain exterior.

you have an AWESOME rifle sir! and quite expensive too, i might add. GOOD FOR YOU!
