Default Ice cubes

I always have ice cubes available at my house. I buy the bagged ice from the store. When I make my own ice cubes, there's always these weird floaty things in the drink when the cubes melt. Must be mineral deposits in my water. I almost always have a big mug of water with lots of ice in it with me. I usually drink it through a straw.

I prefer the cylindrical ice cubes with the hole through the middle. More surface area to cool your beverage and they just seem like a higher quality ice cube. In a pinch, I'll buy a bag of just the cubed ice cubes. At work, the ice machines on the medical floors have crushed ice, which I don't particularly like. They have crushed ice so they can make ice packs for patients who need it. The cafeteria and kitchen have nice, restaurant quality ice cubes in a machine. The kitchen people let me come in and help myself to their ice and their great filtered water whenever I want at night.

How do you like your ice cubes?

The option I want is not available. I like store-bought ice the most because of its clarity, but I HATE the stuff with holes in it because, when you pour your liquid onto the ice in your glass, it inevitably hits one or more of those holes and splashes out of the glass. I HATE that.

My wife stops at Sonic all the time just to buy their ice....it's crushed.

I like to bum from my brother-in-law's shop icemaker; it makes teeny lil cubettes like at Sonic. Apparently, diesel mechanic work is thirsty work.

I love that ice too, I wish I could find a home unit that would make it.

Hmmm........I've never had Sonic ice cubes.

Lon, I have never had a 'splash back' from pouring my drink into a glass with my cylindrical ice cubes with the holes. But watch, next time I pour a drink into a glass of my cubes, it's going to happen. LOL

Oh, just wait, they'll get ya!

But now that you used the word "cylindrical," I should clarify. I have no quarrel with the cylindrical cubes, it's the square ones with little cups on two opposite sides that I hate!

Hmmm......I've not seen those. I like the cylindrical ones with the hole all the way through the middle.

It's all about surface area with those funky shaped cubes.

All right, I'm going to have to try Sonic ice cubes. Do you just go to a Sonic restaurant and order a bag of ice?

What the heck is "post-NWA"?
