I hate controlling ground erosion. It sucks. Some may think, "oh, it's a necessary evil" when they're doing it around their own home, but try doing it for a living.

Nah, I did it on Pipelines throughout the south. My job was prep and restoration. There were many places pipe was laid in hillsides, and after all that equipment tears up the ground, we would often have to use Curlex (brand name), a biodegradeable weave laced with (usually) wheat straw, that would negate erosion long enough for our grass seed to take root. I would regularly lay over 150 rolls a day, myself, in some areas of Mississippi and east Texas.

Then when we passed through Louisiana, in many places we were wading through chest deep mud with our seed broadcasters over our heads (think, river crossing in vietnam with rifles up). We would slog for 10 minutes, broadcast seed for 30 seconds, slog 10 minutes, broadcast seed 30 seconds. And you'd damn well better carry an extra full broadcaster or 2, because by the time you run out, it would take nearly an hour to get back to the truck 100 yards away.

Rap isn't music so it doesn't apply. I've heard fingers on a chalkboard that was more musical.

The guy at the gas station a few days ago hated it when I reached into his truck and turned his music down while he was inside the store. That's okay. I hate it when my son is subjected to lyrics saying "F**k that ni**er, rape that hoe, it's all fo' sho' " over... and over... and over...

Thats the price we paid, The land owners and the oil companys made thiers. Now we as a whole suffer........They cut up the marsh in search of oil and never thought about the end result.....They cut off the great mississippi that would rebuild the marsh. Progress sucks the very life out of the state of La........

I used to fly floatplanes in So. La. from 1972 'til 1986. In those years I watched literally 100's of square miles of swamp and marshland disappear because of all the location canals cut through them. Take a look at a map of the mouth of the Mississippi and notice that levees have been built for miles into the Gulf. All that area covered by water used to be land. I walked on it as a surveyor for an oil company before I got into aviation.
