A problem with spell checkers is that there can be two options; the wrong word spelled right (happens often here), or the right word spelled wrong. Examples: "muzzle break" instead of "muzzle brake", and "there" and "their" used wrongly.
Just saying!
i also hate when some of the youngsters use text speak for posting on threads. sometimes, i can't even decypher what's being said!

Axxe what would you call text speak, pure D laziness, or just the improper use of the English language?

Totally agree with you guys, I don't even use txt talk when I text. I'll go the extra mile to type what I consider is good, understandable, text.... Except for the occasional U thrown in....

I can understand using text speak somewhat. When texting first came out, it was pretty difficult because on the earlier phones, you had to press a key sometimes as much as four times to get the letter you wanted. You had to use those contractions or take all day to send a message. Now with keyboards it's not as necessary, but fads and habits are hard to break.

So the younger ones have absolutely no excuse. We've had full keypads on phones for nearly ten years. Maybe longer.

I'm 26 and have grown up with some of those early cell phones. First one I owned was in 10th grade. It was the kind that you had to hit each number 34 times to get the letter you desired. I'm sure that's where the shortened phrases for words originated. And from AIM.

I've always gone taken the extra time to write a correct English sentence when typing anything. I know I'm not perfect, but I knew if I ever started typing like that, then I would never be able to revert back to proper English.

To get back to the thread topic, I'll agree, I hate people that don't use commas and expect someone to decipher the proper time to pause when reading.
