1. Sticks and Stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt you.
2. It's best to forget high school and the social connections therein and continually move forward in life.
3. If a "friend" acts in a non-friendly way, you can simply drop* them, drive on, and find new friends. Working it out, talking about your feelings, and reforging your bonds--that's touchy-feely stuff that women do.
That kind of stuff can wait until you get married.
4. Self-control, dignity, and inner peace are good things to have. Don't let people get under your skin. Keep a stiff upper lip. George Washington wouldn't get all bent out of shape over some slight at a shopping mall. When people see you get bent out of shape, they will start to take a sick glee in it. It's kind of like kids throwing rocks at an alligator. They just want to see it move and chomp on something. In general, don't give them the satisfaction.
