I couldn't talk Balota into split pea soup. He politely said, "I'll eat it but it's not my favorite." I opted to make something he would enjoy. He was my guest.
If I lived close enough to Winds I'd work on her car in exchange for good food since I can't cook. I'd actually fix Winds' car for free because she's such a nice lady.

How about trading car repair for cooking lessons? By daytime in the garage, by night in the kitchen. Mornings at the range!

That's sounds great. I would love to have a friend like that.

With my choices being chicken and dumplings (YUM!) or split pea soup, my choice was clear. And Winds is being modest. The C&D fall somewhere between medicinal and mystical! (Did I forget to mention YUM?) Next time I visit, it's going to involve split pea soup.

Both Split Pea and Lentil are my favorites for sure. Warm you twice, once on the way in and you can guess the rest of the story!

I thought you said you didn't really favor split pea soup? I'll make something we both want to eat.

Good now I don't have to keep watching the show to see how they really met.
