For the first time in five months, a (an?) opossum was found in the cat house tonight. I ran him off. (Took a shot at him and missed.
It's dark out there.)
I really thought the light was working. A stronger light might work better, but I opted for the weird glowing yellow bug light. Somehow insects are not attracted to it.
you gotta take the bad with the good.
Sort of made me think though. The only gun that isn't locked up in the safe is a .45 Hi-Point JHP pistol. I have an amazing shotgun with a light on it. I should have more firearms immediately available. It takes forever to get the key, open the safe, get the gun, get the magazine.....
I have children in the house. I need to find another place to keep an unsecured firearm.
The girls never cared about guns, but the boy is ten now and he is fascinated. (He must get that from his mother?) He does have two guns of his own, a .410 and a .22. They stay in the safe unless we go plinking or hunting. He knows fooling with a gun will earn him a spanking, but I remember temptation being overwhelming.
I'll have to drink it over tonight.
