pretty much everytime i go shooting which is once or twice a month, i take at least 4 weapons. so i probly put 1k rounds downrange for the day. thats pistols and rifles from .22 to 7.62x54R... wish ammo wasnt so pricey. lol
I have been a silent witness
to all of America's finest hours.
But my finest hour comes
when I am torn into strips and used as bandages
for my wounded comrades on the battlefield,
When I fly at half-mast to honor my soldiers,
Or when I lie in the trembling arms
of a grieving mother
at the graveside of her fallen son.

For my pistols, I try to run 50 rounds at least one day a paper. Nice, controlled 5 rd groups. I try to get to the outdoor range at least once a month to teach the plates and poppers a lesson...that trip can get pricey. Especially if I drag the AR10 along. Couple hundred rounds usually for the rifle. Most of my "training" time (if that's what you want to call it) is spent dry-firing with snap caps in the living room at home. Cheapest ammo there is.

How many rounds? Depends on the day, amount of time I can spare, if I am with shooting buddies or if I have something special to try/break-in. Sometimes, if I am having a "9mm day" I might shoot 300+ rds---45s seems to get about a third less. If we are having a "22 day" could be a brick or more. Centerfire rifles like 308 can get a 100-150 or so. A 454 revovler can be fired as few as 10 rds. Like I said, depends...
