Quote:

Currently, the 1,700+ small American breweries account for about five percent of all the beer enjoyed in the United States and 50 percent of brewery jobs

It's good for the economy and tastes great!

Dunerunner should be all over this.

Shared a growler of Sierra Nevada Ovila Saison with my son-in-law this evening over a porterhouse steak medium rare, baked potato with chives, sour cream, bacon and butter and fresh garden squash sautéed in butter and olive oil.
And, local brewers generally endeavor to use local products, employ locally and support the community they live in. Can't get any more American than that!!

Craft beer? And it's that because if you drink enough of it you come out with "Can't Remember A F**kin' Thing" syndrome?

Dag!! Try some Deschutes Black Butte XXIII! 11% ABV, smooth, black as a starless night in the blackest cave you have ever imagined, plenty of de-bittered black malts and hopped perfectly.
Firestone Walker makes some incredible brews, IMHO.
Best after it warms to above 58 degrees F!!

Black Butte might tie Firestone Reserve porter as my favorite beer of all time, and I am so lucky as to have the Firestone brewery 10 minutes from my house. They have beers they don't bottle, like un-filtered reserve *shudder*. I haven't seen XXIII, but I certainly have to find it now!
